Internship

Sanjhi Sikhya fellow Ms. Gagandeep joined with us as an intern to learn about child rights, mobilization, organizing activities.

Training on JJ Act

Sensitising the police how to deal with children as per the provisions of Juvenile Justice Act 2015.

Orientation of police on JJ System

Senior police officials were made aware of basic provisions regarding the role of police in context of child protection.

Police Training

Role of police in child sexual abuse cases was shared with the help of real cases in order to be more sensitive towards children.

Support Map

Girl children were helped in identifying their support persons at the time of need they can reach out to.

Talk on Child Rights

A session on basic rights of children and helplines if needed.

Child Rights and Education

A session was conducted with teachers where they were introduced how different subjects in child's education could be linked with child rights.

VLCPC Orientation

Village residents were introduced about different issues around child rights violations and the mechanism to support children through village level child protection committee.

Session on POCSO ACT

Police personnel were sensitised how to handle the child sexual abuse cases.

About Us

Karuna Shakti Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to ensuring the rights, protection, and well-being of children. Founded in Punjab, we recognize the pressing need for a rights-based approach to child protection in the region. Our work focuses on both preventive and intervention-based strategies to safeguard children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

We believe that every child deserves to grow up in a nurturing and safe environment that enables them to reach their full potential. Through our collaborations with communities, government systems, and stakeholders, we strive to create a protective framework that upholds children’s dignity and rights.

Why we have started from Punjab?

Punjab, being our home state, it has a critical gap in the existence of rights-based organizations working exclusively on child protection and well-being. Karuna Shakti Foundation was established to bridge this gap, ensuring that children in the region receive the attention and support they deserve. By fostering collaborations with local communities, governments and institutions, we aim to create a robust ecosystem that prioritizes children's safety and rights.
